Ella's 2nd surgery... the last one we hope!

Ella had the 2nd part to her surgery last April. We went in to Sierra Vista Hospital at 6 AM on June 5th and checked her in. From there we went to the Short Stay Unit where they took her vitals and then sent us downstairs to the pre-op waiting area. Ella's doctor's came and met with us and explained the procedure and let us ask our questions. My heart started to pound. I could feel that lump in my throat starting. They very quickly put her on a gurney and with a blink of an eye she was whisked down a hallway and through the double doors, screaming for us the entire way. I then fell apart. I tried so hard not to cry but it just spilled out. The last time we went through this she was sedated and taken in once VERY relaxed and loopy. This time she was fully awake, older and scared. I swear those 2 1/2 hours we waited were torture. My Mom and Brother Adam came to have a little breakfast with us. My SIL Ashlee came too with my Nephew Parker which was a good distraction. Before long they were calling our name in the Lobby and we got to go back to see her. She was drowsy and MAD! We sat with her and let her come around slowly for about 45 minutes and then they wheeled her (and Daddy) to the Short Stay Unit where her IV was taken out and she was given a little time to rest and some juice to sip. Not too long passed and she looked at me with her puffy eyes and swollen face and peeped the words "Can we get out of here?" My girl was back! We spent the remainder of the day resting and watching cartoons and by the time she went to bed that night she seemed OK. She slept pretty well, but was fussy and woke up every 3 hours or so. The next day she ate a little bit but not much. Her teeth look fabulous! She's got 4 new teeth in front and no more decay, infection or discoloring anywhere else! All I can say is Ella may be tiny but she's a trooper!
