Happy Fall Ya'll!

Has it really been this long since we've updated everyone?? We've just been having too much fun I guess...

July is always special, 7/27 to be exact. Jonathan and I celebrated our 7th anniversary. We had concert tickets to see Fergie at the Paso fair and went with friends. It was awesome! Colin went away to skate camp in Tehachapi CA for a week with his Uncle Adam. It was a good first step to trying the going away to camp thing and he did just fine.

Fall is upon us, although you wouldn't know it since we're practically melting in CA these days!

August brought us several new adventures. We went to Wisconsin for Jonathan's parents anniversary. It was a really special trip and thw whole family came together under one roof for a week since 2003. We had a great time and just love it there. The kids went on their first tubing adventure behind the boat and Ella was the youngest Rathmann to get on! She's a sassy one for sure! Colin entered the 5th grade and has had some pretty challenging homework. Rylee is now in first grade and has a full day schedule like the "big" kids. Ella started preschool and looks forward to going and even has homework to do- so she says :) Lindsey enrolled in the local Jr. college as a photography student and is LOVING learning all the processes of 35 mm film. Jonathan is still plugging away at work and providing for his Family as usual.

September flew by! Ella turned 3 (already??) and is such a smart little person. She celebrated @ Disneyland and was tall enough to go on quite a few more rides this time! Colin is on a fabulous soccer team and is working hard to play better and tougher this season. We've all enjoyed his Saturday morning games. Rylee has learned to ride her bike without training wheels. Being the persistant person she is, just like Dad, she taught herself by riding around on a neighbor's bike until she got it and then unveiled it to us. Daddy was sad to miss the opportunity to run behind her holding the bike up until she got it but he's still got Ella to teach. Lindsey is still really enjoying her class and has taken and developed some great prints so far.

October has been a hot one! The weather here has been really weird and yucky! It's almost hard to get into the Fall mood when you're in a tank top and shorts and sweating like you're in a sauna! The kids has parent/teacher conferences and they are both doing very well! Colin's teacher unfortunately was moved to the High School as a Special Ed teacher. He was devastated! She is a great 5th grade teacher and will be missed by the entire class but was needed elsewhere. His new teacher started this week and he seems to like her so far. Rylee's teacher is a perfect fit for her personalit and they get along great. Ella comes home talking about Miss Marian and her friends every day she has school. Our Disney passes sadly expire in a week and we will be skipping a few years between being passholders. We just had to sneak down there for one last blast of fun this past weekend. The park was not too crowded, lines were tolerable and we enjoyed the Halloween decor too! We wrapped up the weekend with Jonathan's Grandmother Erna's 95th Birthday Bash! She really is a great person and deserves the outpouring of love she got that day. Opa (J's Dad) gave a really touching toast to his Mother. I can only hope one day that my kids will be as fond of me when I'm 95. We are off tonight to finalize costumes and get candy to pass out on Friday as well as decorations for Colin's Birthday party on Saturday! Plans for November and December.... that will have to wait for a different blog ha ha

Love,
The CA Rathmanns :)

PS- Here's a link to most of the pics over the summer/early fall. Wisconsin pics will be in a different album since I took over 300 that week, I'm still sorting through them all!
